INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS

Our industry collaborators work with us to help bridge higher education and the academic world with ‘real-world’ issues, challenges, and opportunities. We partner together to work on obtaining grants in addition to research resulting in academic and industry publications and conference/workshop presentations. Additionally, our partners help to provide our students with ‘in-the-field’ experience and current trends for application of in-class assignments and projects resulting in experiential learning and advocation for social equity. Black+Travel+Alliance.jpeg

Founded in 2020, the Black Travel alliance is a group of Black Travel Content Creators from across the globe. Their three pillars of the community are alliance, amplification, and accountability. As travel authors, bloggers, broadcasters, journalists, photographers, podcasters, social media influencers, and vloggers, they unify to amplify.

Brettapproved Inc., home to brettapproved.com, a travel and entertainment website for anyone with a physical disability or mobility challenge. And together with our loyal community of users, we're mapping the accessibility of our planet. It's a big job. That's why we started by celebrating the accessibility of hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues. Traveling -- going where you want, when you want and with whom you want -- is a basic human right. At brettapproved, we're dedicated to making sure that everyone, regardless of where he or she fits on the spectrum of physical ability, has the information necessary to travel confidently.

Fanimal Inc. is an organization providing content on animal-welfare topics to inform and mobilize advocates so that animal suffering can be reduced. We are creating and growing community of animal lovers, or Fanimals (as we like to call them), that want to learn more about animals and help provide animals with better lives. Part of this mission is to promote species equity within the tourism industry, as the industry can be notorious for animal mistreatment. Through education and community outreach, we are hopeful that more animals will be given the chance to experience cruelty-free, humane treatment.

I am Nicole Moore, Public Historian, Blogger, Consultant and Interpreter of Slave Life.

My initial plan for life was to become a Clinical Psychologist. I loved to help people work through their problems. The only thing was, I was not a fan of the multiple schools of thought that Psychology brought on, and likewise, they weren’t fans of my work either. But I had a nifty minor in History that I loved and so I managed to graduate with a B.A. in Psychology (I’m no quitter!) and held that minor in History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2004.

Our mission is to show the world that travel has no racial, gender, religious, economic, or interest limitations through our community representation and relevancy. We were first to represent the millenial travel demographic, and we are always looking to innovate our sector of the industry.
